U.S. College & University Application Support

Applying to universities in the United States requires more than completing an application form. Students may need to prepare for standardized tests, develop strong personal statements, write program-specific supplemental essays, and identify universities that align with their academic interests and future goals. K-Ed provides individualized support throughout this process.

SAT Preparation

Structured support in SAT Math, Reading, and Writing and Language, with practice examinations and review, and identification of individual areas of weakness.

Recommended commitment: 5 hours per week.

TOEFL Preparation

Focused on developing the English-language skills required for success in an academic environment.

Recommended commitment: 3 hours per week.

Personal Statement Support

Students meet individually with K-Ed to discuss academic experiences, interests, ambitions, and potential university options — forming the basis for an authentic and compelling personal statement.

Personal Statement Editing: 150,000 Rwf per essay

Supplemental Essay Editing

Program-specific supplemental essay editing to accompany university applications.

U.S. University Application Consultation

Guidance through the overall U.S. university application process.

U.S. High School Application Support

For families considering a U.S. boarding-school education, the admissions process can involve significant academic, logistical, and administrative decisions. K-Ed supports families as they explore whether studying at a U.S. boarding school is an appropriate fit and assists students throughout the application process.

Consultation

A meeting with parents and students to discuss whether studying abroad is an appropriate fit, student goals and expectations, academic readiness, boarding-school life, the application process, and practical considerations for international study.

High School Selection & Application Support

K-Ed assists families in identifying schools that may align with the student's academic profile, interests, personal goals, learning environment preferences, and financial considerations. Support also includes application and essay editing.

SSAT Preparation

Covers Verbal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics, and the Writing Sample, with practice questions and test strategies.

Admissions Communication

K-Ed can assist families with communication and correspondence with schools' admissions offices throughout the application process.

Mathematics Tutoring

K-Ed provides individualized mathematics instruction for students approximately 10–17 years old, supporting students across multiple curricula and academic goals: homework and classroom material, accelerated learning, and examination preparation (SAT Mathematics, IGCSE Mathematics, AS/A-Level Mathematics, Rwanda Competence-Based Curriculum). While virtual instruction is available, K-Ed places particular emphasis on face-to-face mathematics instruction where practical.

Weekly Mathematics Tutoring

Available for students following the Rwanda Competence-Based Curriculum, IGCSE, AS/A-Level, and U.S. K–12 curricula.

Recommended commitment: 3 hours per week

SAT Mathematics

Focused preparation covering mathematical concepts, problem-solving strategies, practice questions, and test-taking strategies.

Recommended commitment: 5 hours per week

Holiday Mathematics Packages

Concentrated time addressing challenging concepts, reviewing previous material, and preparing for upcoming coursework or examinations.

Recommended commitment: 5–6 hours per week

English Literacy & Creative Writing

K-Ed's English Literacy Development program is designed for students who want to strengthen their reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills while developing greater confidence in expressing their ideas. The program combines rigorous reading with creative and analytical writing. Students engage with literature from Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, the United States, and other international literary traditions.

Reading & Analytical Writing

Reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and analytical writing including essays, articles, and opinion pieces.

Creative Writing & Expression

Creative writing, poetry, and verbal expression and discussion.

Schedule

Sunday evening classes.
